Re: Audiofn looking for post
I think it is the tech area under "stringer replacement" Do that in a search. I used all plywood like they did from the factory. I did not want to have to re-engineer things. I may do different in the bow however.....
How is things. We all need to get together again!!!!

Re: Audiofn looking for post
YAR I go to court on friday against AIG WORKERS COMP they s@|ck as a insurance co. they were order last nov to pay all my meds, operations 2, bills and the one I'm waiting for now knee replacement ,they missed my court date in aug so its this week and I will win or lose put it will be done. if I lose boat goes back in the garage until I get back to work I had it out last week it ran go for being put away for 2 years. if I win then my buddys will give me a hand pulling the motor out and start cutting out back 1st so do you think balsa would be good or better than plywood or foam? and yes if have to hock up. art

No way you do the transom in balsa IMO. If you want to go real high end then do the foam thing but otherwise then I would do plywood. If you do it correctly then you will never have to replace it again.
I found that thread http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...er+replacement

Re: Audiofn looking for post
me too I found it. the transom is fine I HAD A NEW HP GIMBLE PUT IN 2001or2002 and it looked solid, the bulkheads and the floor is getting soft glass is lifting so those are the 2 places I wanted to use balsa I want to lighten up the boat ,I want to race opa next year and the baltek balsa I used with jeb to make my engine cover came with a couple of coats of glass from the factory on both sides. what do you think jon

Ya then the balsa should be good, or foam. If you need anything from Composite 1 let me know. I have an account with them. If you really want to know the most high tech way to do it we can ask a buddy of mine that does a lot of work with America's cup boats.
