Apparant DCB copter crash on Catalina Island
It appears a hughes 500 copter with very similar markings to the DCB copter went down a little while ago, Randy the aircraft owner was supposed to arrive out there for lunch today so it may very well be. All this info is being relayed from posts on Hotboat with info relayed from local news and inside sources close to the DCB family.

Re: Apparant DCB copter crash on Catalina Island
from HB
Here is the deal.... It was Randy. He and a friend were in is helicopter. They were flying around and he caught a skid on some power lines. The helicopter flipped over and crashed. A nother friend of his was in another helicopter and watched the whole thing. The second copter landed (one skid on the ground because there was no flat place to land) and that passenger jumped out to try and help. Both people on board survived however, Randy is having some trouble breathing. He could really use your prayers right now. |

Hit a powerline in Catalina? Sounds like inexperiance and pilot error......it's probably easier to hit a buffalo in the road when driving in South Beach. Hope they do okay...........

Inexperiance, I don't think so...Accident yes...If I remember correctly, Randy has over 15 years experience. I have personally flown in this helicoter with Randy, and let me tell you he is one hell of a pilot. He is very, very good. I hope he and his passinger have a full recovery. What a bumber. |
