HOW TO ROCK THE DOCK, for less than $50.00
Tired of being in a raft or at the dock with every stereo playing a different tune? Here is what you do:
If you have an ipod ,buy an FM transmitter [ Best Buy ].
I have a plug into the cig. lighter type as well as wireless seems to work best. After you are tuned in, have boats close to you dial into same FM station. Get the transmitter as high as you can so others can pick up the signal. It works. At Lake Ontario PR we had 4 boats all playing the same music. - Mine !! Now, how cool is that!! Best of all, you are in control !! Now we need Parnell and others to tell us how to bump up the power and extend the range. Let me know, once you figure it out.
Now go ROCK THE DOCK - while I go out and load up on shares in Apple and Belkin !! LOL
CAN WE FIX IT ??? YES WE CAN !!!

I LOVE my iPod, it goes EVERYWHERE with me - the truck, the car, the boat, working around the house, etc. I bought the iTrip FM transmitter from Griffin (the one that fits perfectly right on top of the iPod - and looks like it belongs there...) and it works incredibly well - broadcast range is about "six rafted boats"...

I have had an iPod for about a year now... originally bought the FM transmitter (a decent digital one according to Best Buy) and honestly I think the sound quality SUCKS! So, I upgraded the head unit in my truck to an Alpine unit that allows you to plug the iPod into it... works like a CD changer. Now I don't bring CD's with my anywhere... And the iPod charges as long as it's plugged into the Alpine adapter so I never have a dead battery. I also bought the cassette adapter for Vicky's Bravada... sounds 10X better than the FM transmitter.

I have an XM Sky Fi unit setup to go with me on the boat. It is directly hooked up to the stereo for better quality but at the same time transmits on an FM frequency and works great for boats rafted up to me.

Actually I won't keep up this pace for long. Got these two threads going and have one more in mind before I blast off again for FL. As long as I have the time and can contribute some and have a little fun, I will hang in here.
