How to tell diff. between Whipple 2.3 and 3.3??

I bought a Whipple from the classifieds advertizing a stage II 3.3 for a 500 hp, carbureted.

I now think I was mislead and was sent a 2.3. I e-mailed Dustin and he said the 3.3 has a sticker saying Whipple Charged 3300SC and a 4" upper pulley. The unit I have does not have the sticker Dustin described and a 3" pully.

I checked Whipple's web site and all the stage I and II kits for the 500 HP are 3.3. The unit I have is blue.

The kit I received was never intalled or used. The seller claimed he hit a log and his boat sunk before he installed it.

The intructions for the kit say Stage I 500 HP. I figure this is a generic instruction manuel. I just found the parts check list from the factory and it says a 2.3 unit was boxed.

Anyone know how to tell the difference?

Thanks

I wouldn't have any idea how to distinguish the two, but it might be smarter to try the lower boost model anyway. It would be much easier on the motor and you would still probably notice significant gains. If I were to supercharge (496 ho's), I would go with as little boost as possible to keep reliability. Good luck, hope it all works out.
