Mar Vista ....Long Boat Key.....but......we'll go out BIG PASS and up and around Eggmont and then back to Mar Vist on the inside????

I vote for Mar Vista. If it's windy, it gives us the option of NOT running across Tampa Bay. If it's nice, we can take a loop around Egmont or something, and come back to Mar Vista. If it's all set up on the other side of the bay, and the wind kicks up, it can get VERY nasty as you well know.

We just did the Donzi Hometown Rally in Sarasota in October. Our lunch was at Gators. The wind wasn't howling, but it was significant. Most of the Donzi guys in the 22's and down said they would not run across the bay again. I'm kind of glad my boat broke that morning so I didn't have to make the run across the bay. The most scared I've ever been in a boat was right under that Skyway.

How about Cabbage Key? You can run on the inside or outside.

On another note, the Rattlefish marina is full now of sportcruisers and it is raft off docking now.
