You gentlemen that are making such a fuss about Travis' boat:

Are you aware that Pantera Powerboats has the Apache molds and can custom-build you a "White Lightning" type vessel? Pepe and Jo will build it right to your specs. Twins, Staggered twins, Trips, Gas, Diesel, no cabin, full cabin. They will build it with glass, Kevlar, carbon fiber, epoxy...whatever you want. Why should Travis have all the fun of an ultra-special V-bottom?

White Lighting has a lot of Apache Heritage, but special molds were made for it including a narrowed beam if memory serves me. So are these the same exact molds that white lighting was born from? White lighting is very unique, make no mistake in comparing it with a Apache of the day.

Although they are both awesome boats it would be nice to see more of these since the money was already spent for the tooling.

So again are these the exact molds that white lighting was produced in?

Thanks
Jon

Jon:
I'm afraid my "mold knowledge" is not up to par. I was told on Travis' boat that the beam is 8' with a cut-down hull for less free board. Next time I speak to Pepe I will ask him if the molds he just acquired are the ones the Legend guys used to make "White Lightning".

I do not think it will run that even as well as we have it dialed in. I will say we are hopeing to make some really big power this winter for 08. When Coz and I were testing it in 04 we blew oil all over the bilge and she ran over a 100 no problem, and she was sick as hell and needed lots of love. Like I said we are getting thier.

Attention as we have seen is not always good, and I had no Idea she would be such a big deal. I bought it for me,not for what people think or do not think. Funny how some, notice I said some people have insulted her speed and me so much and do not have a clue, good talkin to you on the phone again, got more games see ya next wkend............at LOTO.........call me.............

This is just for all u guys that think u know white lightnings speed. That hasnt even been on the boat. Travis and I was in the ruff stuff last year getting ready for the shootout . and we ran 110 plus then it so happened that we blew the MSD distribitor cap & rotor off ,Travis said we were just starting to get freed up. We limped her back to the dock and travis had it fixed in less than a hour.I dont know of any boat on the lake that can do that. The funny thing about that is we had plenty of throttle to go.I begged him to run in the shootout and he looked at me very seriously and said there are to many BIG BOYS here and were not ready yet. oh yeah I was on white lightning memorial weekend and every body was begging travis to rev it up including me.He only did 3-4 times not to mention raising the hatches a couple of times .Hundreds of people wanted to take pictures and video so I told him to leave them open.Isn't horsepower what its all about?I have been working on some of his rental property at LOTO and he made a comment to me that BRAD SMITH and him will be making BIG power in 08.hopefully!

I think we have all agreed that travis is an ok guy with a cool boat, hot wife, yada yada... but your post is smack talk pure and simple. So you are due for some good natured ribbing:

It took a WHOLE HOUR to replace a cap and rotor????

Walk to the truck to get a spare cap and rotor - 5 minutes
(you do carry a spare - right?)

Remove old cap and rotor - 5 minutes

Inspect distributor - 30 seconds

Replace rotor and cap - 1 minute

Check wires for correct firing order - 10 minutes
(it pays to triple check - and I'm sipping a cold one by now)

Throw junk cap and rotor overboard - 2 seconds
(just kidding)

So there you have it, less that one half an hour. I don't know of any "boat" on the lake that CAN'T do that.
