625hp in a 29' Fountain?
Has anyone installed 625+hp in a 29' fountain fever? The boat is a 2002 vintage. The boat will run 77-78mph with a 525 efi. However, hoping to get 85+mph with that amount of hp.

I think he is referring to a single motor application in which case those are some decent numbers. |

Yes this is a single. They only put twin small blocks in the newer 29' fountains. Anymore input?

We had a 27' with a 525 SC at Everglades years ago with no steps and I KNOW it ran 75 MPH. I got a ticket in Port Everglades!

Re: 625hp in a 29' Fountain?
To much power is never enough. Pump it up ! as much as you can. It's addicting isn't it ? After going 90 with a smile that wraps around my entire head !, it's hard to enjoy a cruise in a "slow" boat. :D to me 625hp isn't enough. Unless it goes in a Skater... I'll find out how my 650-675 horse 540 does in my 24 Formula this summer. Maybe not enough boat but never too much motor !!! . You have a decent , good sized boat. Enjoy it !!! BBB

Re: 625hp in a 29' Fountain?
There is a 29 Fountain (single engine) on Lake Wylie south of Charlotte with over 1000 HP running 110 MPH!
Maybe some of the guys that know more of the details on this boat will come on here and share. |
Re: 625hp in a 29' Fountain?
More input needed. I would like to make more power however I do not want to give up the stock appearance of the 525efi. Those 525efi headers are application specific, as far as the exhaust flanges are drilled.
