Re: fastest bravo gun??
You can make them move pretty well with real big power. In july 05 we completed the new 850hp motors and Billit Max Machine drives on our 97 Kevlar Lipship TopGun.
If I were to do it again I would have run the same #6 dry sumps I run on my Cat.
Know one I talk to with big power has had any Bravo style drives consistantly hold up to over 750 hp, know one. We did a best of 95 mph gps in the late fall, low fuel and two guy's, and that was after removing a hook in our hull and adding a few more lbs of boost over and above my 850s probably closer to 900hp per side at that point.
Originaly we were good for mid 80s all day fully loaded with 6 to 7 people, full fuel in the heat of the summer. You realy have to baby the Bravo drives in and out. We launched our first drive in 35 hrs then 10 hrs latter another. If it were me I would go with a moderatly powered Bravo twin step if you like to run 90s to 100mph in a deep V. You will have more into your 99 if you do it right. I am at the $205,000.00 mark right now and as much as I love my boat , was it worth it for 10 mph probably not, as we spend 99% of our time comfortably cruising between 55 and 65mph. Good Luck!
