GPS for boat / Car?

I have a small Garmin hand held GPS that I use on the boat and it works fine. But I have a new Avalanche with the nav system and now I'm spoiled! I want a larger color screen GPS for the boat. I'd like to get a portable one so I could use it on the boat and in my Lexus (no nav). I looked at one at West Marine, I think it was a Garmin 276C. Had good features and was priced at $950 after rebate. The only drawback was finding a good spot to mount it in the Lexus (LS400).

Anybody have any sugestions?

Thanks.

The 276 is good for the boat but not as good as some for the car that have auto navigation, i have the 182 in my boat and when in the ocean that screen is almost to small. i use the 176 in the Jeep and sandrail and a Streetpilot for the car.

If you are only going to be on the river or lakes i think that the 276 would be fine. the 176 was terrible since you cant see the screen in the daylight.
