Default Quick Ford Truck purchase advice please:

Worth $22,980 ?

http://www.clarkeauto.com/Scripts/St....1421.10009UJ]

2000
7.3/Auto
59,100 miles
Lariat LE with 4 captains chairs

I have pulled the carfax, and it shows one minor accident 35,000 miles ago. It has a 4.10 rear end. I had an OSO member look at the truck, and he said its clean and straight.

caution with car fax, if it shows an accident it could be major. IM in tha buissiness and I sometimes purchase cars that come back clean and after further investigation I discover major accident, look at it really good.

Thanks speedy. I am kinda used to that as well. The friend who checked it out for me went over everything, and he could not find any significant damage; matter of fact, he said he could not find any damage.

That is a nice truck, the 2000 Ford 7.3's are tough.

Question is whether it's worth it to you.

It may be a tough truck for them to sell with the payments being so close to a new truck, there may be more negotiating possible.

On the other hand, all the money has been spent on appearance stuff, so thats a real saving.

I would double check the carfax report and the affected area on the truck.

Good luck

That 4.10 rear end could make for some noisy freeway speed driving. Make sure you run it at the speeds you will run.

All the appearance stuff is factory, part of the LE package. I am used to 4.10 and loud rumble as I have an 8.1L now with Flowmaster exhaust and 4.10 gears.

I keep going back and forth with the sales managment over $2000 bucks. They say they might have it sold, but I am used to that crap. I can't leave VA and head up there until 4PM. If it sells it sells.

I wouldn't go until New Years eve. They are usually highly motivated then.
