    Anyone familiar with Mares Marine and their 38' cat?

    I've been on thier fishing boat. I think it's a great looking boat and functional. Not exceptionally fast but very cool. Mares now owns Sonic as I understand it and are being built in Stuart Florida. They are building Sonics, Dakota, and Mares under one roof.

    I think thats great for everyone involved. I actually like their cat for its effeciency in the cabin, seemed very roomy. Not the best looking, but if you want a sunpad, and all out speed isnt priorty 1, and it appeared to be a descent value. Saw one on a poker run rafted up to a few 36 Nortecks and it held its own. As to Sonic, Im glad someone else is taking another stab at getting them on the right track, if only Jay were back. Building composite fishing and pleasure catamarans.
