I'm sure we could figure a way to get her across country. I flatbedded her from CT 10 years ago for $1,500.
She's got a Volvo AQ311A package from 1991 (350 Chevy / Volvo 290 Drive). Stock hp was 311, but I added a high rise exhaust, so maybe 325hp? 65 mph any day. Approx. 200 hours. Gaffrig throttle and shifter. Drive shifts like butter! Custom interior L-shaped after Donzi 16. Internal hydraulic steering. New-ish gas tank. Nose cone. Custom Hill prop. Hydr. trim tabs (no indicators). 2003 Trailrite dual axle trailer. New Faria SS Euro gauges will be installed come spring.
I'm the 2nd owner for 20 years now. No soft spots, but she does have some spider cracks. She's a 10 from 10 feet, and rides great in rough water (up to messy 3 footers)!
Please PM offers. Not much for hanging out dirty laundry...

Dave, that Sutphen is sweet!
Ratman, if you end up sticking with Donzi, look for one older than 1972. (No flames please!) Just a biased opinion after being in dozens of 16's and 18's of all years. (I have a 1970 18 2+3 Holman Moody). To me, the older boats have nicer "hardware". Very little plastic. The shifter is all metal, the dash is cast aluminum, the seat sliders are a work of art, just little details like that. In build quality, they cannot be beat. The gelcoat is MILES thick. Mine has never been re-gelled, and still looks nice. (A few spider cracks and one small bubble after 36 years...)
Also, get one with a VOLVO! Mine is still running great, and has never been rebuilt...

Re: looking for an older donzi 16 or 18 footer know of any for sale?
bglz, my family had a 76 18ft 2+3 with sbc abd volvo drive, lh helm with all quality hardware i think the plastic crap came around long after don sold the company bean counters picked that crap over quality, if don had been a bean counter like that the company would have a rep for building crap not 1st quality boats. some companies coe's are too f ing dumd to understand this. thats why i am looking for an older boat. sweet ride by the way but im a chevy guy and will put a 406 or 383 roller in what ever i buy. thx, ratman
