It's hard to believe it's that tight! You know what I would do if I were you ? If you never had a boat, try single. If you already drove single, since it is 16/16, buy a twin engines and try it out! This way it is gonna be a new thing to try and then you'll be able to give a better opinion in the futur to guys who are asking the same ! Twin, twin, twin, twin, twin.... Good luck!

I've owned 4 boats in my lifetime. Two outboards, two I/O's. All singles.
While I would love to have twins, I'm just not sure that I ready for double the maintenance woes. While I have a GREAT mechanic at Full Throttle Marine, I just want a low-maintenance, trailerable, smooth-riding, great-looking boat for under $40K. Is that asking too much?

My .02, I don't care for the looks of the 26 Scarab (except the F1 style). I wouldn't mind owning a 29 Fountain but would rather it be a single. Also, I'm guessing that the Fountain with a single would run the same speed with equal power as the Scarab.
Good luck!

I'm looking at a single-engine 29-foot Scarab and a Twin-engine 29-foot Fountain.
I will get some pics of the Fountain today.
