Single Engine 1996 Scrab or Twin-Engine 1990 Fountain?
If you had a choice between a 1990 29-foot Fountain with twin big-blocks and a 1996 29-foot Scarab with a supercharged single engine, which one would you choose?
Both boats are very clean, have Bravos, and both owners are asking $40K.
The Scarab will run mid-70s and the Fountain should run over 80.

Based on the performance numbers and the ride that you'll get from the Fountain... and I'm bias towards Fountain 
Is this a 29' Fountain or an 8.8 meter? Just remember the 29', 32', and 8.8 all have a tendancy to be sinkers so don't think you can leave them on a bouy.

I think I would choose the fountain. Don't know much about engines but supercharger gonna work that engine to death. Fountains faster. Thier not making scarabs anymore. Once a boat gets 10yrs old or more think condition probaly means alot more then year built. Twins for same price? (if it was me though i would low ball them both and see what real diffrence in price is ;Scarab could be less in the end.) My 2 cents.

The fountain...twins are always better than single..they are hard to find sometimes up here...perfect boat!!!!

Wanted to see if you got my email.
I'm biased also. The Scarab is the way to go. Handles the rough stuff great and single engine will get you less maintenance, better gas mileage. It has a 110 gallon tank and he can go a long way on that considering he puts in almost right across from the cove.
Also has a nice cabin, cranking stereo, porta pottie for the honeys if needed. Not including a BIG covered engine hatch!!

Get a SINGLE! That's the only way I'd go. Half the costs, half the hassle, performance is still there. Also, serviceability is MUCH better. Just my opinion!
