Re: Sleekcraft claims 100mph?
Bob, you need to start from scratch and make a new thread that reads kinda like this.
headline
Guys, help me find the boat thats right for me.
body of message,
Hi folks, I am looking for my boat and having a tough time wading through the BS. Here are my parameters
My budget is $$$$$$$
I would like to use it primarily for race/ poker runs/ other
my favorite features are.....
I prefer paint/ gel
I do/ do not want blower moters/ NA/injected etc....
I do/ do not care if it has a windshield.. etc
Put as much info as you can and I guarantee you this crowd will help steer you in a good direction, I've been keeping up with your posts and you are doing alot of spinning of your wheels it seems. Focus your wants and desires and put em in a post, then sit back and wait for the qualified opinions to start piling in, along with som good BS from the peanut gallery.
Also, what level of boater are you, how many boats have you owned?
Your Metal Brother.
Kenny

Re: Sleekcraft claims 100mph?
and in answer to your question a resounding NO. You need at least 800 a side to make that hull get in the high 90's

Re: Sleekcraft claims 100mph?
The only boat I know of that can do 100mph w/ 496ho is the eliminator 28 or 30 cat, and I still haven't personally seen it.

There is a test of that boat in the newest Hot Boat mag. They loved it but said top speed was 75mph. It has an Arronow hull , 24 degree hull and 8'2" beam.

It's also the same hull used for the Magic 34' Sorcerer.
