Default wide boat

Im planning on buying a wide boat(144").Does any body know what is needed as far as permits in the state of california or how I can find out!Ive looked on the dmv website and could not realy find anything!I would also need to know what signs I would need or flags,Thanks!

you need to call the DOT not the dmv, they will tell ya all about the permits, the flags, the signs, the escorts and when and where you can't take that wide azz boat....

12 FEET WIDE!!!!! How wide would it be if you turned it on the trailer? Maybe that is the way to go

You can go to a California Cal Trans office and buy a private annual wide load permit for under $100.00 per year. That permit is good upto and including 12 feet. They will give you about 20 sheets of paper and all of the rules to follow. California is one of the few states that will let you trailer 24/7. As for flags you need a wide load banner both front and rear. red flags on all four corners, and your headlights must be on. certain roads are not aloud. also your hight comes into play depending on the boat. call me if you need help. 909-********* I am right here in garden grove

24/7 would be nice if it was nation wide....(not that it has ever stopped us.. )

I agree, I am leaving vegas next month for the miami poker run with a 46 skater and will be running 24/7 to get there.
