Wärtsiläs main "Dynoroom" is less than a mile from my home.
I can see it and have toured it twice. Here they test mainly the 4 strokes. The dyno room lies on a waterbed so that the houses nearby won´t tumble down or start rattling. One of my best friends from school is the companys marketing manager. Orders anyone? :D |

... and the sort of ship that uses that kind of power. 1503' long, 226' wide and draws approx. 80' when fully laden.
Handles rough stuff really well. |
Re: The Worlds Most Powerfull Engine 2 stroke Diesel
Science channel had a show for a German 14 cyl. 110,000 HP at 94 RPM. Could uncouple piston from rod if there was a piston cyl. failure and the rod would go up and down in the piston with the piston locked in place.

hmm. I think with liberal use of a sawzall and a big crowbar I could get 4 of these in the Cary 50. The fuel tank is already big enough.
