Boat rental or charter (Ft Lauderdale)
Has anybody rented a boat and stayed on it over night in the Fort Lauderdale area? I was thinking about spending a few days on the water if possible.

Don't remember the name of the place, but there used to be a marina on the south side of Lauderdale that had floating apartment/motel rental by the night, it was very cool.

South Lauderdale, just north & east of the airport, unless my memory has totally failed me, I do remember they had a tiki bar and a good resturant,,,if I'm not mistaken, it was called Marina Bay, and the phone number used to be 954-791-7600. Hope this helps.

Slick02 it sounded like a great idea but they said the hurricane destroyed them.
I was really hoping to find a boat to ride around on and look at the sites and maybe sleep on it. Most of the stuff rents for a week and is 40'+ in lenght.
I have a 38SC and it is great for a couple of nights but it is in Va. not FLa. Thanks again for the idea!

if you dont get to rent a boat, take the water taxi, it will show you around and take you to various points of interest that lie on the water. good luck, enjoy!

Do you know where the performance boats hang out? I know hang out is not the right word but it works. The last couple of times I stopped by Shooters and it was mostly pleasure and sport fish boats.

You rattled my memories with Marina Bay. Marina Bay was Great..just west of 95 ..off State Road 84
NO MORE.. the condo/apartment scene. Marina still there but the Tiki Bar and old resturant are gone. They even had a good indoor bar also with some great oldies music and dancing. Use to date a gal that worked there till it came out she didn't like boats!! Just didn't fit in my Florida aquatic scene and images. The pool and tiki were my favorites in the area..my other was Coconuts down by Pier66 Bahia Mar and Bahia Cabana. Still love the Cabana!..Coconuts disappeared TOO!
What is left of the good ol' place from the 90's?
