Boat Show Pricing

I'm pricing our smaller boats for the Bham Show and am wondering,I can price our 3 deckboats at $29995,$34995,and $39995, or do $30000,$35000,and $40000. I like the even #'s but the 995 crap has been going on for maybe 100 years :p Do people really notice?Except for $5,do shoppers really perceive that $39995 is a better deal than $40000?Apparently so,but I still wonder.

Yes they do. $39,995 always sounds better than $40,000.The first number being a 3 seems to make a difference.

It's a psychological thing....the 39.995 appears to less because they see the 3 not the 4 as the first number although you are only 5.00 off the 40,000 price....I would go with the 39,995

An emphatic YES! It is a psychological thing. $39,995 is much more attractive to a potential buyer. If you don't feel right about the $5.00 difference, list it at $39,880 or something like that.

What difference does it make.......most of the offers you get are going to be ridiculous anyway. :D

(my $.02 is to use the 39,995.00. I know it's 40K and have never bought into the "oh look it's only 30K something" but some people are.)
