What do you guys think a pair of 1997 HP 500's are worth with about 60 hours on them. They will need the valve springs, retainers and keepers changed out also. They also include Stainless Marine exhaust!

That's a good question. Do you know why they need to be replaced at 60hrs? I would say they are worth $8K-$12K for the pair, depending on their condition. Try to get the price as low as possible if you have to spend some $$ to replace the springs & retainers.
If you think about it, buying a pair of 500's + freshen them, it is actually a "bargain" price wise compared to buying 2 new motors.

SF,
I don't know for sure if the valve springs need to be replaced, I'm just erroring on the side of caution, and figured that before I put them in the boat that I will have the heads done. The $$ #'s you posted seem to be in the range I was thinking too.
Have you found your new boat yet?
Thanks,
Dean
