Default Ky to Az -Lake Powell, Meade, and Havasu

Trailering to lake Powell for a day, Vegas and Meade for 3 days, and Havasu for 3 days the third week of March. Any advice, tips, or recommendations would be appreciated since we've never been.

You really can't see much of Lake Powell in day, the lake will overwhelm you with it's size. Where are you launching? They have a really nice hotel on the water at Wahweap. On the other hand Lake Mead is also big, but there isn't much to see, one day on Mead and you'll be bored, but there is plenty to see and do in Vegas. I would try and hit LHC on Thursday and stay until Sunday so you can get a feel for what it's like on the weekend. I would also recommend the Nautical so you can leave your boat in the water. They have some suites with kitchenettes in case you're tired of eating out after a week. There is plenty to do and see at LHC, especially on the weekend.

Launching at Waheap. In that case, probably stay at Powell on Sunday and Monday. But have to be in Vegas by late evening to p/u our women at the airport. Will stay in Vegas until Thursday when we head to Havasu thru Sunday. Staying at the London Bridge Resort w/ a 2br suite w/ kitchenette and rooftop patio. Also have a boat slip. What do we need to make sure we do and see at Powell and Havasu? And are any of you gonna be out there?

Wow, that's some trailering all right... I always thought about trailering to Havasu sometime during the winter months just to get out of Omaha's weather.

Do you have it mapped out how long it will take to get out that far West from KY?

Have fun...

Yeah, about 15 hours to Powell, another 300 miles to Vegas, 2 hours to Havasu. 3 days of craziness and an easy 1700 miles home. Have always wanted to do it so figured what the hell.

Dan,

We're planning the same trip in June. I'll look forward to a full report!

Forget Mead and Havasu... just spend your time at Powell.. you still will only have scratched the surface of what is to see there.
