Default Garmin GPS receiver locations

I am considering updating my GPS at some point with a Garmin 2006C or 3006C and I am wondering where people that have these units have installed those ugly azz mushroom receivers/antennas? Any pictures?

Also is there other receiver that are compatible that are not that ugly.

GL,
I used a car one, I believe that the model # is GA 26.
Let me go find the thread and get the picture and I'll report back. It only comes in black, but I'm going to paint it white and see what happens.

I have installed a few by cutting off the tapered base that is designed to screw to a mount and sticking it to the deck with 5200 it isn't nearly as obtrusive that way but its kinda permanent. acetone will take the garmin logo off too if you want it all white. just have a wet towel handy cuase if you dont wipe the acetone off quick it will give the plastic a hazy look. I havent done this in a while and you should probably check with garmin and make sure they havent moved any of the internal components into the area to be removed. Oh and I take a drill bit and use it like a mill to cut a nice round notch for the wire to come through or you can mount it somewhere that you have acsess underneath and drill a hole in the center of the mounting area and run it that way for the cleanest look.

The one on my 311 is right on the dash going up through the windshield. What gps do you have now GL, the one on my Tiger is a 215, I'm told it's discontinued, and I believe I still have a tube speedo as well, i wouldnt mind upgrading to gps speedo too and a newer garmin with charts and depths...Rob

I like my tube speedo.
Besides the GPS gives me speed also.
I currently have the 215 also.

how do you like the 215, it's new to me, does it give depths? and can it be upgraded? looking at pics of my tiger it looks like we have identical pkgs.
