Guys when I sell anything dangerous I have the buyer sign a separate copy of the bill of sale. the guy that bought my boat last fall looked at me funny but if he took the boat out the next day and ran down a swimmer or another boat without registering it I'd be the one the law comes looking for along with a team of lawyers.
just imagine if the marina is keeping a liability issue (it came loose and damaged anothers boat) a secret? Oh so it is your boat?

I had a friend sell a house to a crack head once. The crackhead never paid the lawyer who never filed the deed of record , when the town came back to my friend looking for the taxes the crackhead never paid when he split town, my bud got the house back and sold it again! Kinda like winning the lottery except for it was now a crack house.

Thanks for all the help. The boat is a Mariah and he spoke with the marina this morning. They are sending a release letter to him and then the boat will be turned over to the sheriff for auction. Thanks for all of the advice and help!

I guess these days you should always try to get the new owner to meet you at the DMV and get the titles car truck or boat ect. out of you name so you will be cleared of any liabilities.know it is hard with out of states sales but.
