Suitable for
Catamaran Sport/Poker Runner
Vee-Bottom Sport/Poker Runner
See which engine is right for you
The 700 SCi is based off the same CNC machined 502 cubic inch cylinder block as the 525 EFI and 600 SCi. The intercooler, made of copper-nickel alloy called "CuproNickel" for enhanced corrosion resistance, is 0.75" taller than that used on the 600SCi for improved engine cooling. Boost bypass is achieved via an internal cast passage. The intake also features port fuel injection and a fuel cross over passage which eliminates tee fittings by routing fuel to both port and starboard fuel rails for enhanced engine aesthetics.

An induction hardened, micro-alloy crankshaft features larger journal radii for enhanced strength and durability. Connecting rods feature a floating wrist pin as well as stronger rod bolts for enhanced engine durability. A new camshaft design provides increased valve lift for enhanced power and torque. The oil flow rate has been increased for enhanced engine protection throughout the engine operating range. The 700SCi is the first engine to come standard with Mercury Racing's new universal engine mount system. The new mounts enable OEM boat builders to install the engine in virtually any hull configuration with ease.

The 700SCi is also the first engine to feature Mercury Racing's new large capacity power steering reservoir. It is intended to eliminate the need for additional after market reservoirs used by boat builders today.

Engine aesthetics are new with the carbon fiber reservoir covers, polished pulleys, and selected components painted slate grey.

Reliability
All new integrated engine and drive package from Mercury Racing
Features all new dry-sump ACE drive and transmission designed and developed exclusively by Mercury Racing
Unique drive design enables engine to be mounted in same location as Bravo drive applications.
Engine based on a CNC machined 502 cubic inch cylinder block
A new camshaft design - combined with a taller intercooler, increased supercharger boost and update fuel calibration results in a consistent 700 crankshaft horsepower.
Oil flow is increased for enhanced engine cooling and protection throughout the RPM operating range.
A new large capacity power steering reservoir eliminates the need for additional after market reservoirs.
Hot new engine aesthetics include carbon fiber reservoir covers, polished pulleys, and selected components painted in an anthracite grey color.
First engine to feature Mercury Racing's new universal engine mount system.
Lysholm 3.3Liter screw type supercharger featuring Mercury Racing's front drive housing with integrated oil level sight glass.
The compressed charge air is evenly distributed via the adapter manifold before entering the intake manifold.
Custom designed high flow throttle body features twin 2.9 inch throttles and is integral to the boost bypass loop.
The intake manifold is the heart of Mercury Racing's designed induction system. It houses an internally o-ring flange sealed intercooler. The intercooler is made of copper-nickel alloy called "CuproNickel" for excellent corrosion resistance.
A cast internal passage in the intake is used for the boost bypass loop. The intake also features port fuel injection and a fuel cross over passage which eliminates "tee" fittings by routing fuel to both port and starboard fuel rails for enhanced engine aesthetics.
Higher fuel pressure demands are met with a new electric fuel pump. The engine is also equipped with fuel cooling and a mechanical pump to combat vapor lock.
To improve packaging and reduce fuel connections, a custom billet housing was created to accommodate the fuel pressure regulator and water separating fuel filter.
Closed cooling system.
Mercury Racing aluminum heads.
Hydraulic roller camshaft.
New induction alloy Micro Alloy crankshaft features larger journal radii for enhanced strength and durability.
Cool Collar Sweeper Headers feature a new alloy for enhanced saltwater corrosion resistance and durability.
Crank and cam sensor target wheels have been designed for direct internal mounting.
One coil per cylinder for ultimate in engine ignition management.
SmartCraft PCM 03 microprocessor.
Engine Guardian.
Knock control - engine monitors for knock continuously.
14-pin Deutsch connector engine harness. Ignition and SmartCraft wiring are included in one connector.
AGI (analog gauge interface) compatible. Allows to run both analog and digital gauges.
Only engine available with the all-new ACE drive.

from mercury's website regarding the ACE drive.

"The Mercury Racing exclusive transmission design features a Bravo-like cone clutch mechanism – resulting in smooth shifting characteristics."

hmmmm.....

ACE Drive

Mercury Racing has just written a new chapter in the book of revolutionary marine propulsion with the development of the all new dry-sump ACE drive. The drive is robust enough to handle engines between 600 and 800 horsepower with an input torque rating of 800 ft-lbs. The engine/transom plate/drive package is nearly 200 pounds lighter than a comparable engine outfitted with a standard size transmission and dry-sump Six drive. Both the drive and transmission feature dry-sump lubrication for higher efficiency and reduced operating temperatures.

The unique through-hull location of the compact transmission enables the transmission to be installed after the engine is first mounted. Access to the transmission from the transom also allows the transmission to be removed and serviced without having to pull the complete engine.
KEY FEATURES

* Removable transom assembly cowl enables easier access.
* Accepts both through-hub exhaust Maximus and over-hub exhaust cleaver propellers.
* New interchangeable water pickup is mounted at the rear of the gearcase torpedo.

Hmmm, wonder what the drive/tranny will cost?
Especially compared to an SSM IIIa/V with a box. Guessing the ACE will be a weee bit more.
