Nice acquisition!
How does something that nice end up in an auction? The Saber 28 was on my A-list when I was searching for my last/present boat. As I get older, that big engine compartment looks mighty attractive.

As far as I know it was bank repoed due to the owner filing bankruptcy. I cant believe how much room there is in the engine compartment!! What Saber do you own? Is it a 28? What year?

This boat is pretty clean. I need to wheel it out and get some upholstery work done but thats about it.

What would you guys do to bump it up in speed without adding twins. I have no idea what kind of speed I can expect the way it is. It does have a 25 pitch mirage on it so I'm assuming that the engine is pretty stout.

THANKS FOR ALL THE INPUT!!

That engine is probably 425-450hp??
You will hopefully run 62-65mph w/ that.
See how strong it is, then go from there.

Congrates on the 28, see Ben at PRECISION POWER OFFSHORE in Grand Haven 1-616-844-1000, he does rigging and tune ups and full motors. He's got a sweet 600ci, 700+ hp motor that will get that baby flying.

Wieland77,
I do not own a Saber. I tried to find a single engine Saber 28 but most were twin setups. I ended up with a 1989 27' Activator that has a 6'5" beam, at the transom. My engine compartment is tight. The Saber 28 engine compartment, is nice and large inside, when equipped with a single engine.
Have Fun!
Russ
