Supercharging also lets them keep everthing within reason for decent idle quality as well as good power.

Here' the math I did in 2000 when I bought my 382 Formula.

1)Merc 575Sci's + Latham hydraulic steering + Brako drives = $320,000
2) Innovation/Volvo 540 ci/600 hp (injected, not blown) with integrated hydraulic steering and DPX drives = $282,500

I went with option #2 and pocketed the $37,500....

The Innovation Marine 600EFI DPX package IS the best way to go. That 600 horsepower is an understatement. I have seen, first-hand, the 600 put out over 625 Hp. There is not a blower involved and the reliabilty is there. That is why Volvo had them build the engines. Ask mcraymond, he has three of them in his 46 Cigarette. Merc reps keep an eye on what Innovation Marine has going on.
