36 Spectre vs 35 Motion

I know both boats came from the same hull except the Spectre is widened a foot and strectced a foot also. If anyones has riden either, what would you consider a better riding cat also which one is faster?

Re: 36 Spectre vs 35 Motion

I've owned, ridden and raced both. I owned a 30' Spectre and a 30 Motion. I currently own a 35" Motion and I owned a 36' Spectre in the past.

For a 30' The Motion rode much better. The spectre Porpoised like crazy at 70 to 85 MPH. I had a huge center tab and it still porpoised very bad.

As for the 35' Motion vs 36' Spectre. In flat water I heard the Spectre is a hair faster. I don't know how true. As for the ride, in rough water I will take the Motion any day of the week. The spectre would get a little flighty at higher speeds in bumpy water. The Motion always flies strait as an arrow. In the Motion I never had the "Oh S##t!" feeling when hitting a bad wave. From 1,000 HP to 2,300 HP the attitude never changed.

Either size I would highly recommend the Motion.

Alex,

Do yourself a favor and crawl around the inside of both. Pay close attention to the build quality. call the manufacturers . I believe this should answer your question on which to purchase. Both are fast.

beleive me, Gino and I have put these two through their paces.

I have owned a 30" Motion and have a Kevlar 35 Motion for sale.

The Motion is a fantastic boat. I tested a 36 Spectre and the 35 Motion before I bought. Both had sixes and twin 1000hp. I did not care for the ride of the Spectre. Both are great boats, I prefered the Motion a little more.

Re: 36 Spectre vs 35 Motion

Alex17, I have a 32' skater with Merc 800sc's and # 6's I am thinking about selling. I want 150K if I sell, this includes the trailer. I can e-mail you pics if you like. This boat along side a 36 spectre is the same size. My boat is very fast 120+ mph @5200rpm's. Very good in the rough stuff or smooth. Send me an e-mail [email protected] or call 443-506-7577 Thanks Paul

A 32 and a 36 are the same size? I will guess there is a about four feet of difference. :D
