What will remove 3M 5200 w/out damaging gel coat??
Just removed my silent thunder box and the stock tips from my 98 312 Fastech and want to clean up the holes that has 3M 5200 around them. Is there a chemical that will remove it without damaging the gel coat?
Thanks

Anti-Bond 2015 from West Marine or Boaters World made by JWB Environmental. Trust me...it works. I used it to remove my K-planes using guitar string and a heat gun. No damage to the gel coat.

The Anti-Bond stuff works great. It will dissolve 5200, but it takes patience. Use a plastic scraper (ie bondo scraper) to help get the big chunks off then put Anti-Bond on a rag and rub-a-dub

don't want to be the lone wolf here...but I found the Anti-Bond to be innefective.
especially innefective for the price.
I found heat, a razor blade, and fingers to work well.
No matter what method...removing that remaining 5200 is a b!tch!
