The Deadliest Catch !
The Deadliest Catch ! This show on The Discovery Channel. The last episode was on tonight, I have watched the whole series. What a bunch of guys! What a job, I think that would be an awsome experience. It does have it's risks but what a pay day.$362 thousand for the vessel and Deck hands can make up-too $21 Grand in five days. Anyone know anybody that have worked on a Crab boat such as these?

When I worked on boats in the oilfield there were a few guys that had done that. Its as dangerous if not more so than what the Discovery show makes it out to be.
I've been knocked on my a$$ by heavy seas on deck in the Gulf but that cold water is a whole different game. Your life is measured in minutes even with a survival suit.
I enjoyed the show immensely as it accurately depicts life aboard a commercial boat.

My buddies son was on the show...That was his 5th & last year.
The show gave them all new gear to wear so they looked good
The producers had also hopped for much worse weather to film

21 grand in 5 days. I dont know if thats so great. after taxes its what? about 15 grand. thats not great considering you are working 24 hours a day for 5 days, risking your life and freezing your azz off.
Very cool show and yes it would be a good experience. Dont think I'de want to do that for a living. then again, theres not much you can do in Alaska to put food on the table. take what you can get. and be thankful, i guess
