Re: NH Senate Sinks HB162!!! 15-9 Vote!!!
Had a half hour interesting conversation with a guy I met at the car show last night, who lives on Lake Winni.
He was VERY emphatic about this whole issue. He was originally for the HB162 bill but ONLY for the noise. He really didn't care about the speed, but he, apparently like others, felt the speed would lessen the noise.
He also blames the out of staters, mostly from MA., for most of the problems. I was wearing one of my OPBA Poker Run shirts and that's how the subject of boats came up and when HB162 came up, he went off like a missile. I pointed out how the GFBL's in that are were calling for people to put mufflers on their boats if they come to visit and that the offshore crowd was trying to show their willingness to work so that all could get along BUT that the "others" also had to do their part in order for that to happen.
It ended up a good conversation but did not start out that way.
So apparently as has been discussed it's the noise factor that is really got the oldtimers cranky.
That and somebody I guess has a 40 ft. cruiser who likes to cruise just fast enough to plow water and create 4 ft. wakes which pisses everybody off.....

Custie has already spoken with several of the marinas. NHRBA will be putting together a game plan with regard to an education drive with marinas this spring.
