Outboard Performance Boat 30-32 Will It Sell?
I know of a Boat Company looking to get back into an Outboard application for a 30 to 32 ft boat, with Verado and Optimax being as good as you can get would there be a market? I can't disclose the company as of yet but I think it will hit a market. Once the boat becomes more of a reality I will disclose. They are figuring the boat will run in the mid 70s speed wise and the price will be much lower then a stern drive set up with less headaches. being there are not many boats that offer outboard application on a closed deck boat anymore most are now Center Consoles I figured I would ask the question?

I would think so... sure! With the noise regs. and fuel costs being what they are, and O/B technology really stepping it up, they are hard to overlook when they fit a build. I am giving them serious consideration for my next go-round, it just makes boating that much more hassle-free - again, if the application fits. I can't see hanging 4 of them off the back of a Top-Gun, but... in the 30-foot range I bet they would work quiet nicely!

Why wouldn't it work is my thought. Don't get me wrong the sound of a nice big block is always beautiful....but the reality is that there is a niche in the market that is not being filled and it should be. I'm in marketing and I can tell you that if done right this would be a real money maker (business) and money saver (public) for a lot of people. The key in my opinion is keep it under 32 ft so that it can be powered reasonably by either 225s or all the way up to triple 300's. The KISS principal goes a long way in my book for an idea like this. No fancy graphics or paint schemes..just a well built hardcore v-bottom with a bracket and some outboards.

I never understood why MORE builders don't have outboard powered performance v hulls. Personally, I like the idea of eggbeaters.

The powerplay 33 did this well and i think its a great idea.
Open up the cockpit w/ a big u shape lounge w/ removable center table.
Two nice bolsters up front. or maybe a double bolster w/ a rear facing seat. Lots of seating, great entertaining.
Or could make it more simple w/ just a rear bench that drops outta the way, like tiara has, and throw 4 rod holders and you got a decent fish boat too. Twin 250s and cruise at 50mph would be a winner. And KISS, no steps.
