Re: Have Turbine's, hull required

Turbines were 12K each, need drives & transimision so if I went with the sage package that would be another 25K each.

I boat on big water, Lake Ontario, & some off the other great lakes so need something with size. I prefer a cat but are not opposed to doing this in the right V hull. I think the safest way would be a canopy, maybe a few year old super V or, Cat lite or Super Cat. That being said I would like at a four place boat to take along a few friends.

Is there anyway to take a canopy off a race boat & be able to reconect it later? I know some of the Outerlimits have a removable top but that is made during manufacturing of the boat. Not sure if it would work but cutting it & retro fitting it.

I would like to keep this under 200 K if possible, if not 275 K tops.

probably would not be a good idea. I'm sure its possible but the deck and actual canopy would have to be engineered for removal. if its not done properly the canopy would not be what protects you but rather what would kill you in the event of a roll over or stuff. best bet would be to do a removable roof center section similar to what Brad Zastro has done with his MTI. structural integrity has been maintained in the critical windshield area and still has the open air roof. not sure who did it but i know that boat and looks like they did a great job.

I heard Brad was doing that, that is sort of where I got the idea. Brad do you have any pictures of the finished product?

Just heard the #'s that the Doug Wright boats were putting out, over 150 with 700's??? Imagine if I could fit the T58's in there...that would be out right scary!

I heard they were looking for over 300K for that hull as the bank was on the hook for way more then it was worth.

if the rumors are tru of them wanting 100's of thousands then it probably wont sell this friday. that or someone started rumors to keep other bidders from coming. If it doestn sell they should be willing to come down after. worth a call at least.

if you want a canopy in that range itll be tough to beat this one
