Post What is the best chip for the 2002 Powerstoke Diesel?

I will use the truck to tow and want a modest power increase and don/t want to do any other mods.

Sonny,

If you can wait untill Monday I can find something out for you. I have some connections through my business that do diesel upgrades for your motor.

Check out http://forums.ford-diesel.com/ubbthreads/ a lot of info at this site. They were talking about that type of system Troutly was talking about but they were saying it was causing problems or mabey adding propane to it was. I'm not sure go check it out

I use a Dynosources chip and have had no problems in two years. I plan on pulling it and haveing them re-program it for my new truck. http://www.dynosources.com/dyno_sour..._Menu_Page.htm Have fun

Troutly that thing sounds real nice. Have you used it?

Hey asking a pro, the other day I got pulled over for not using my turn signal to change lanes. I really think that I did. I always do use them especially since I am still trying to get used to this massive rig. You got any suggestions for what to say in court??? Thanks

Jon

Last week on TNN, my two guys, Dave and Sam, took a 2000 PSD an added a kit from BD Diesel. Stock dyno run was 235HP and 494 Ft Lbs.

Added 80 HP chip, new trans wire loom, for 150psi torqre converter lock-up pressure, and an exhaust brake and a single pillar mount digital PYRO/BOOST/TRANS TEMP, for under $1500.

New dyno, 311HP, 697 Ft. Lbs.

I have an ATS (Advanced Turbo Systems) 3 stage chip in my '99 PSD. WOW!! 16 sec. in the 1/4 mile. 14mpg.

Another friend with an F350 v10 with a whipple and exhaust did 15.7 in 1/4 mile.

My buddy had a hypermax and did not like it. He switched to the ATS.

Ive got a Gale Banks kit on my 99 powerstroke. I think it was called the stinger kit. There is also a stinger II or a stinger plus, I forgot. But anyway its about $1600 for the base kit. It consist of a computer chip, new exhaust from the turbo back, transmission controller, new waste gate and new turbo housing if you go with the stinger plus. You also get a pyrometor and booste guage. I absolutely love the added power. If you ever come to the western part of the state Ill let you drive my truck. I use it for towing most of the time and it really helps. As far as better economy, it gets a couple of mpg better if you keep your foot out of it under normal driving. The best improvment towing is about 1 mpg. Mine gets worse mileage because I keep my foot in it all the time. It actually makes the truck fun to drive.
I went with the GB pkg because they have been around for so long and the tech help was great. The torque increase was 110 for the stinger and 147 for the stinger plus. Also they have specials and they negotiated with me on the price with mine.

I've got a Diablo Sport 4 Bank chip. Seems to have more processing power then the others.
Excursion has 55hp increase.
F-350 dually About 85hp, with 5" exhaust.
Taking them to the dyno next week and will know all the facts, but the improvement is unreal!! I use them to tow all the time.
