She sure did. We added 2 feet of length to the new boat and moved the CG back for better high speed stability. We like length under us over 200.

Hey tachyon nice to see you here again, how are things going? Will you be in Pickwick?

That's a mean looking machine, but wouldn't jump the gun that quickly. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Callan get some real competition, but anything can happen in a mile...

Beautiful rig. I can't wait to see her in action.

No comments on my turbine boat at this time but I will say that I expect Tachyon's boat to be much faster this year. Dave and John are extremely dedicated professionals who approach these speeds very wisely - a little more each time. Best wishes to them but most of all, you guys be very safe while testing! Look forward to seeing Dave & John at the races this year. Hopefully, they will even join me for a few Budweiser Selects again!

As a fan, I'm curious at how well the turbines will play out fan wise. I grew up helping my dad work on the rescue sleds and later setting the course for the Columbia Cup in the Tri-cities Washington. We were family friends with Jon Walters who was the first turbine, I believe (Pay N Pak). The turbines were a lot quieter than the Merlin engines and seemed to take a spark out of hydro racing. But then again, the fans are much closer to the boats. The sound of 4 or 5 Merlin V-12's coming down the pike was awesome!!!

By the way, I read somewhere that Callan tests over here in Sanford on Lk. Monroe. Anybody know his schedule or what days of the week they tend to be down there???

Couldn't agree with you more - only time will tell. To quote Bernie Little when he and I were talking at the Shootout one time about his turbine powered Miss Budweiser: "turbines sure are fast but the fans still seem to prefer boats that are big, fast and loud".

I knew there was very little test time and you guys did great. I always look forward to the show. Should be a good one this year.
