Default 28 magnum or 28 cigarette?

Would you rather buy a 28magnum on the cheap and put money and time into it to get it pristene and updated, or would you buy a 28 cigarette that has already been done, and is turnkey. Both would end up being about the same $$$.

Do you mean a 28' Maltese? Or a 27' Magnum Sport or Starfire (depending on the year)?

75 28 maltese.
My friend has already bought it with the intention of not putting much $ into it.
If he paid 10k for it, he thought he'd put another 5k into it just to clean it up, change gauges and the such. Now he is thinking of turning it into a real gem.
Although he can do some work himself, he's still gonna end up spending another 20 for interior, painting and all the other stuff and accesories. let me know if I'm wrong w/ this.

I just told him that if his intentions were to have a mint boat and spend 30k, you could have bought a nice redone 28 Cig for that kind of money, and saved alot of work and aggrevation. And on top of that the cig would have better resale.

BTW... he was not looking for a Magnum, he just stumbled on it cuz it was cheap.
I think he'd be better of selling the mag now... and buying something better.
And don't get me wrong... I like the magnum, but just to keep it as a nice ride and not pour alot into it.

SR'r ... he bought that dark blue hull in Brick, NJ right? Beat me to the boat

I'd either go Cig already redone ... or even find '28 Cig cheap/project and redo. In end you'd be better off ... probably.

I would have chose the 28' Cigarette, too over the 28' Maltese, but if it were a Sport or Starfire it would have been Magnum. Just my $.02

Well... he's decided to keep the magnum and do work to it.
Maybe not as much as he was thinking.
