United we race!
I congratulated everyone involved twice in my post and said that I may go to Destin - I would call that supportive. I just think the announcement could have been written in a more professional manner.

Re: The Offshore Racing Report - From OPA

Great job guys..and you know I love the Jersey Boys and Ron

But ....

( you know with me there's always a "but")

It seems to me that you will have to find a way to eventually unlock Key West as a race site.

Your problem is that while you were out buying Fountain race boats last year, you overlooked the little issue of Reggie , as chief sponsor of SBI, basically buying television infomercial time at a discount under the pretense of a boat race.

This is the current "business plan" (there's always a new wrinkle to the OPT/SBR/SBI legacy) that is keeping the APBA/SBI ship afloat......and is a major stumbling block.

Perhaps you should use whatever leverage you have( some of you are "cuss-ta-mahs" after all) to pry Reggie out of there and bring him over to your event. At that point you'll have the "unity" we all want. With the possible exception of Deep Vee Cat's longstanding dedication to all things Carbonell.

Just my .02..........

Good luck

I've tried to help for years..........

The problem's roots have been consistent to wit:

The individual and collective egos of the racers........

The unrealistic assessment of the sport and its alleged "fan base".

The Carbonell "business plan"

The APBA's weakness under fire

The negativity, ignorance and back stabbing that occurs behind the scenes.

The continual Short Sighted "Solutions"

The lack of clear leadership

The proliferation of meaningless ( and confusing) classes

Solve the above and I'll be glad to help......but I'm, frankly, sick of butting heads with the aforementioned nonsense.
