15-20 would be a good buy. The engines are probably worth 15 alone.

Hey Jeff,
I'd say with the newer 225 Yammys, older hull, ((all those Makos are very nice :) )) it has to be worth $22-25K. Now, at auction, I'm not sure you'll 'need' to pay that, cuz you're not always going to have multiple parties interested. If you can get for <$20K and all checks out with motors, hull condition, electronics, etc .. I'd say jump on it and you wouldn't be upside down ;)

Do not underestimate the value of these boats. A friend of mine just bought a 1990 26 Mako with 2004 150 Mercs for 38k. It was completely re-rigged and done as clean and as perfect as we do raceboats at Grant's shop.

I would say fair market value is 25-35k. Less than 25k is a steal, and it better be perfect to get more than 35. That being said, as stated above auction value will be more.

Newer motors usually mean the transom was in good enough condition, but ya never know with these boats; check the stringers too. Just remember that this is a 15 year old boat...though it looks good from the pictures. Make sure he knows the condition of the important stuff. Good luck- I love old Makos.

Brad.
