Default Turning in or out?

HI!

I am rigging a Phantom 25 feet offshore with twin Merc 2.5 EFI SS engines with straight skeg Sportmasters. The boat is narrow, only 5,5 feet wide. But it has been very stable with a single PM 300 running in excess of 76 mph. The boat runs flat and require positive trim with a single PM 300. Total weight will be approx. 2.900 lbs with driver and fuel.

I plan to use Bravo 1 28 pitch props for cruise, and Chopper II 28 / ET 28 props for wot runs. Estimated top speed is 90 mph+.

Would you spin the props inward or outwards?

Cheeeers and thanks! Toffen G

I found that the handling thing changes alot with how high the props are. Spinning 'out' changed from really squirrely and really fast to very tame and very fast with in one bolt hole ( 3/4"). So, how high are you mounting the motors?

Hi!

I will start with the propshaft 1,75 inch below the bottom.

On my boat, spinning 'in' with the prop shaft close to even with the bottom was tricky to drive, it walked like an Alison. I am roughly 1" below and now it's quite tame. The boat require less trim to fly it, because of the downward pulling rotation on the tail. This rotation has been the fastest set-up with everyone (and me) that I have talked to with a twin VEE.
Good luck

Been on OSO for about 6 months now and really enjoying it. I do not want to hi jack this thread so I will PM you when I get some time. Also a good spot to find me is over on Ft Myers Offshore under Boat Club Forums. Have put some time and effort in organizing the offshores in south west Florida this winter with fun runs etc. Catch you again.
