Default Ethanol in skaters

Since it looks like we have ethanol coming this way this summer, what can you do to help protect the tank ?

Does it apply to all skaters or just the outboard ones that mix gas with oil ?

Thanks,

I Was Out At Skater The Other Day And Was Talking To The Girl That Was Doing A New Gas Tank In A Mold. She Said That They Are Using A New Product That Is Compatable With The New Fuels. You Might Want To Check At Skater If Your Tank Has The New Stuff Good Luck

Is it just ethanol (85% ethanol) that causes the problem ?

Or does gasahol(10% ethanol) cause the problem also ?

Does anybody know if any marine company has an additive that prevents the problems of this ethanol junk.

Read this thread. It certainly is junk, the only thing you can do short of major surgery to your boat is make big screens at the bottom of your fuel pickup tubes but that only prolongs the problem, they will ultimately clog as well, and it could eat right through the boat. 10% is all it takes, E85 would probably disintegrate the whole boat This stuff sucks. I'm just doing the best I can to avoid it. I won't fuel up unless the gas station attendent can show me the last deliver slip. It will clearly say " contains no ethanol" if it doesn't.

We are going to run 100% Ethanol in our new Skater. Pete did some research and found a "Special" coating he used in the fuel tanks of our new boat.. Suppose to prevent any problems with fiberglass.

I'm not real anxious to cut my boat apart. I'll put it off as long as possible.
