we shot off a few on a camping trip.....they were about 3 yrs old.....only went about 40' in the air....came down and started a small brush fire when it hit ground and kept burning!!
But the Power Squadron and coat guyard have a day during the year where you can go down to the lake and blow them all off....while supervised ofcourse.....or i hear just saoking them in water will kill them nicely to just throw away....

I am pretty sure you can drop them off at the Coast Guard station in your area and they will use them in field training exercises.

Light it and throw it in the water, it's pretty cool.

Make sure you have a few beers first though.

Local fire department will accept them.
Just don't walk into the fire station with them in your hands.

Take them to your local Fire Station, or Coast Guard Station.

Don't practice with them please.

Your old boat wasn't sitting in it, was it?

Hows the Stryker running?
