Default Radar Shoot in Va

The RRBA is holding a radar shoot June 3 on the Rappahannock River in Tappahannock Va. We finally got our Coast Guard permit. Our web site has all of the details www.rrbaonline.com. It is always a good time and we hope to grow the event every year.
BTW Top Gun last year was 131+

See everyone there....

We went last year. It was an expensive day but we had a blast!!!

(Lost a $200 pair of Oakleys, had a prop come apart and destroyed a lower unit.)

What is the best ramp to use for this event. Also, how far away from the run is the ramp??

Flat tires cost more than that so that was a cheap day for him.

There is June Parker Marina, which a couple miles if that from the event. I have never seen it personally, but its right near Tappahannock by land. Its a 'rough' ramp from what I am told, not long, and I dunno if you can float a cat or a 38-V there Wayne. I have only heard of being able to launch less than 30 footers there. We launched in Deltaville last year, and ran up the River about 20 miles or so to Tappahannock. Plenty of ramp and plenty of water; but there are channels you want to follow.

Looks like I will be going to Deltaville then. My boat requires a lot of water to get off of the trailer especially for only being 28 feet long. I will talk to Martin, I know he is going too.

Dream

June Parker will be fine. Last year a lot of bigger boats launched without any problem. I saw a 43' Thunder, 36'Spectre, 31' Sonic, 24' Skater, and 38' Top Gun launch and recover. Chris (Haishi) runs the marina and he has the 24' Skater with low water pick ups. His number is 804-445-3150.

June parker is fine for mid to high tide....I have low water pickups and lost both impellers trying to load and hour before low tide there last year. The 36 spectre was throwing clumps of mud out his tailpipes when I watched him load beside me. The run from Deltaville can't be that bad and like brain said....STAY IN THE CHANNEL!
