Dragon winner in UIM P1 (Malta Valletta)

Jacky and Mike Shelton win in Europe in the UIM opening season race in there new Dragon. Scott Smith flew to Europe when the Dragon arrived to sea trial and set up there new Dragon. Congrats Mike and Jacky.

First race out Dragon in the UIM Class P-1 takes first on Saturday and second on Sunday in a good old fashion 140 KM 4-6 sea Offshore race. Beating out Apache, Donzi', Formula's as well as 16 other European brands. The first race they where so far ahead all they had to do was finish to take the overall win for the weekend.

I have a feeling Craig is about to become very well versed in overseas shipping if he's not already

Nice, isn't that the first win for a Dragon on any race course.

Congrats to all involved.

thats great, im happy for craig and everyone involved with these badazz boats, the cnc hulls are the real deal. its good to see it prove itself over there where they run real offshore races in the big stuff, its cool to see the dragon handle the apaches and donzis, thats a hell of a feat

Thanks all for the comments!
Jackie and I were really happy with the boat, in a 4-6 sea the dragon is truly awesome! We finished about 5mins ahead of the rest which was great

On the second day, problems with the smartcraft cost us the race ... had to stop and reset everything and still came second having lead the race again for 7 of the 9 laps.

Scott came across to help us with teething problems which were all resolved ... thanks to Craig and Scott for building a great boat!

If anyone knows why the smartcraft would report 0 oil pressure and 0 water pressure for no reason and report 66,000 errors across all readings I would love to know!!!
Once I reset it, it was fine ... nothing wrong with the engines I could find.

Mike

Id go back to good old Mechanical gauges in a race boat , but possibly its something simple ..bad ground etc ...
