We've Hired An Attorney To Fight The Alabama Boat Ban
We found a prominent, well respected attorney to file suit on behalf of several Lake Martin property owners. He is an expert in constitutional law and feels he can win. If we win on this one maybe Alabama Power will back off next year. Anyone willing to help out can send a check to: Frank M. Wilson,Attorney,c/o HB756,P.O. Box 2389,Montgomery,AL 36102. Be sure and put HB756 on it,that's the # of the bill.We don't know how much it's going to take, but I'm sure it won't be cheap. Even the smallest amount will be appreciated. We feel if we don't act now, they will come after the other 5 lakes next year.Anyone that needs more info can e-mail me or call 24/7 at 205-221-3072. It is very important that we overturn this law. Heard a story today about how they came up with the 26' 11" maximum length, don't know how true it is but is interesting.Russell Lands, who owns lots of property on Lake Martin and backed the bill with big bucks, was a Fountain dealer for a short time and supposedly had some issues, and since the shortest Fountain is 27', then 26' 11" would ban them all Laws are not made by lawmakers, they are made by the lobbyists with the money from the rich corporations. Sad but true.

Will do! What a bunch of crap that ban is in the first place. If any of you have ever enjoyed Lake Martin and intend on returning, please help out so one day you too can boat on Lake Martin again.

No,we have a specific bank account and PO Box for the fund. I believe it will be more efficient this way. Thanks for the support.

Excellent! I wish you guys the best of luck. We can't let this stick, for it could be used as a model for stupid legislation elsewhere. You have my support, I'm sending a check today!
I also contacted Boat U.S. regarding this matter. With 650,000 members and 40 years experience in helping boaters across the nation, they could be our biggest ally. I'll pass along any info or help that they may be able to offer.
In the meantime, check out:
