Trailer brake ?? for VA

I live in VA and am buying a trailer for the 342 Baja that I just got. I was told that in VA anything over 12K pounds GVW had to have brakes on all three axles. Is this true? If not do I need them on all three or is brakes on 2 axles OK? I am pulling it with an F250 crew cab.

Have you checked the DMV or the State Police web site. Check where you get your car inspected they should have the book.
