Hello Race Fans,

First we had the Point Pleasant Race scheduled for June 25th, but we had no purse. Then Jenkinsons stepped up with $12,000 but only if we moved the race to late August, so we took a vote amongst the racers and majority ruled. We moved the race to late August in favor of a purse. With half of it in hand, we felt we could raise the other half elsewhere.

Very recently, then the golden rule took over, which goes something like - He who has the Gold Rules. Entry John Haggin from AMF Offshore Racing. John really wants to bring all the AMF teams to run in Point Pleasant this summer and wouldn't be able to make the August date due to another race commitment. So John upped the ante and is putting up the full $25,000 purse as long as we move the race back to it's original date in June.

SO HERE'S THE OFFICIAL AND FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING POINT PLEASANT RACE DATES.

THE POINT PLEASANT RACE WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY JUNE 25th - NO FURTHER CHANGES WILL BE MADE.

As always, updates about this race will be forthcoming via email as the race gets closer.

Now, we need to build our volunteer base for this race as it's only one month away. If you would like to be a volunteer on the water or land, please go to http://njoffshore.homestead.com/volunteer.html and fill out the online volunteer form. As always, your help is greatly appreciated.

What is the slowest race classification? My boat MIGHT qualify for that. How big is the rear view mirror you need to stay out of the way of faster boats coming at you from behind. <gg>

CBR -- P6 is the slowest class - 65mph top speed.

Thanks Ron, is that 65 MPH on the speedo or on the GPS? Just jking! Looks like I am still too slow for that, drag from the fishing rods and all. :D

I've been there before, and will certainly like to make the race on the 25th. Glad it's on a Sunday rather than some of the Friday races that I can't make.

Rail spot at the end of MArtell's peir! I called it :)

Great place to see a race from. Make sure to be by the inlet to see the boats come out too. You can get a lot of great pics there.
