First Annual OSO Port of Canvaral Fun Run 2006
Man,
What a great time this was yesterday!
Myself, Unsane, Bajabennett, KWest, and another friend of our's, "Bruce", ( who is not a OSO member yet!) all went out of the Port of Canaveral, ran down along Cocoa Beach, Satelite Beach, Indianlantic Beach, etc all the way down to Sebastian Inlet, (Roughly 50 miles one way), came in the inlet, (What a trip that was!) and back up the ICW. Round trip approx. 90-100 miles round trip, "Round the block" as we call it here. What a blast, ocean was 2-3' with no set, but we ran HARD and I'm a little sore today!

That is awesome. My parents have a condo in Cape Canveral. When I go down there I spend at least the better part of a day going to all the marines in hopes of seeing some performance boats. I have yet to see anything worth mentioning. D'OH! I usually am down there in the winter so boating is something that would be cool to do. I would love to meet up with some of the area OSO'ers next time I am down that way. Hows is the boating in that area, looks great!

Look us up when you come to town. Boating here is good and bad, the good is there is a HUGE amount of water here to boat in, Atlantic ocean of course, the Banana River, the Indian River where the ICW is, Newfound harbor, the Mosiqito, (SP?) Lagoon! The bad is the Manatee Zones!

My dad looking to buy a flats fishing boat when they live down their on a more permenant basis. I am doing my best to try to get him into a performance oriented center counsel, but so far my efforts have not payed off. I will keep after him!

Sounds like a great time. We in South Florida have done that a few times. We need to do this more ! Anyone in our area interested in having a fun run get in touch with us and lets set something up.

It was a great time!!!! I haven't had a chance to download my photo's but I will get on that soon. We could have backed off a litte to save some fuel, and out bodies, but what the Hell! We were all very dissipointed that Capt. Hyrams's did not have any transit dockage for boaters that wanted to just stop for lunch. They had their docks destroyed in the 04 hurricanes and the Manatee Club has managed to stop them from rebuilding. This
SH__* has got to stop.
It was a great day and we should make it an annual event.

Good pics Dean. We are heading back out today. I'll call you once we actually do. Maybe we'll stop by for some TIKI time.
Everyone in my boat is sore today too. All in all a good run though.

Cool buddy, just call, and I'll give you directions to our canal. We are just hanging @ the TIKI bar, watching the Indy 500! I'm doing my annual maintenance on our lift!.
