Yes there is a GOD....

As I was in Pt Pleasant Beach passing out posters for the OPA Race to the area merchants, I stopped in the church that I was married in yesterday... I haven't been there in 10 years. I said a huge prayer for Scotty!
I walked out and came across a fountain. (A water fountain).

I made another prayer and a few wishes.

1st was for Scotty to make a full recovery.
2nd was well wishes for the safety of all the racers this weekend.
Then I tossed my change into the water.

It's funny how things work sometimes.

Scotty and I have been poking fun at each other for years about getting to ride in his Outerlimits...
I always figured tomorrow is another day....
And now tomorrow is coming and Scott is making good on his promise!

You're the best Scott!

Hello everyone,

AMAZINGLY we were able to pull off the Atlantic City Poker Run off without any rain to speak of! It was all Scott Applegate's fault! Because he decided to run with us, he made sure it would not rain on our parade! Scotty it took all your strength and courage to come out and play with us and we greatly appreciated your presence! You are the MAN!

I would also like to thank everyone who helped make this weekend possible:
* All of the NJPPC Planning Committee Members
* All of the NJPPC Members who registered and attended the event
* All of the NJPPC sponsors who attended the event
* The great people of MONOC who ensured that we were safe
* NJ State Police for providing escort for us in the Toms River
* Typhoon Performance Marine for hosting the Friday Night Party
* Albert Haynesworth of the Tennassee Titans for being a great sport!

It was also great to see alot of new faces in the crowd! We have a new "contingencey" from the Atlantic City area which included 1/2 dozen new boats to our crowd. Our Long Island "contingencey" also braved the seas to join us and it is always great to see them every year as well!

It was the 9th year of the Atlantic City Poker Run and we think it was one of our best events yet. What I enjoy most is the great people that make up the run and help create the friendly atmosphere. I am very honored to know so many of you as friends outside the club. That is what keeps me and NJPPC going year after year. It also makes us one of the most unique organizations around.

Latest Update on Scott:

Scott continues to receive his chemo treatments and per "Crazy Charlie" is hopefully going to join us for the Barnegat Bay Poker Run!

Although Scott is doing better he could use another round of moral support from the gang!

Ive just read through this thread and im speechless.

I am in no way a religious man, but i strongly believe that we should all put our faith in ourselves and fellow mankind, for it is truly people that can make a difference on this earth.

The support shown here on OSO for Scott during a difficult time in his life should be an inspiration to us all and i am truly touched to be able to witness such human kindness.

Rooting for you Scott, keep on boating.
