The CAM stood for Canada - America - Mexico.

Bob Nordskog did all kinds of individual endurace runs and this was one of them. He usually did these runs for some charity, like seeing eye dogs for the blind.

Top Banana Thanks for the explanation.
Nordskog is not the offshore top winner only ,but a man of noble feelings too.

And then "Diamond Don". I think we are in 1978.
Soo, with this one. How many does it come to ?.This one was orginally yellow. It's a 1973 40'5" with a lil different cockpit. Stand up 3 man bolster w/ approx 2'open space behind. I don"t see a space behind the seat on the other 40's.

Mike I don't think so....and as for your jacket, I was looking for older stuff, back in the 60's and 70's. How about a nice Maritime jacket?...Now that would be a find.

Donzi I think it isn't a former 40' race boat.
Too much different in the deck.
It is a 40'(40',5") for cruising builted maybe in the same year of the firsts 40' race boat.

Look this differences.

This air-vent was'nt in the 40' race version. Note that it was part of the deck mould. Then the deck was changed all?

The dash was cutted and advanced for create a space between the engines room and the bolsters?

The fuel mouth was in the upper part of the "bridge-house" originally. Now is in the lower part. Why?

Here's the 39 mentioned earlier...

From the flpowerboat.com site(2000):

No Garden Variety powerboat. If this rare 39' Cigarette could speak...what stories it might tell. Barney Welch's "Powerboat Magazine Special" was once owned and raced by the legendary Bob Nordskog. The '77 hull was completely redone by Barney recently, and is powered by Gentry Turbo's that can be literally "cranked -up" to 900 HP. Barney and newlywed Vicki are just cruisin' today!
