Default Scott Lake, Fl going dry fast!!

Does anyone live on this lake that is going dry because of a sink hole?

It wouldn't be the first one. If you ever drive down I-75, just south of Gainesville, you'll got across what they call Paine's Prarie. In the late 1800's or early 1900's, it was a great big lake. Big enough they ran steamboats on it. A sinkhole opened up and drained the lake overnight.

hell our lakes in texas are going down around here because of the heat and the fact i dont recall the last time it rained

The big retention pond behind my house had its flood control system washed out during last weeks storm. The pond dropped 8 feet over night.
The sidewalk between the washout and street is collapsing. Possibly from the pipe the runs under the road to a pond on the other side collapsing. We hope the street won't be next.
County officials were out to survey the damage. They claim it's from an earlier water main breakage caused by some construction company that's working on the opposite side of the pond. County says the contractor has to pay for the repairs.
Meanwhile the local wildlife and fish are suffering and the stench is getting bad.
