Default Buying a 1999 Donzi 26 ZX WOW!

Just looking for some input. I just put a deposit on a 1999 Donzi 26 ZX the boat has a 454mag, and 134 hrs on it. Overall the boat is in great shape needs some cleaning but has been sitting for sale all summer so this would be expected. The only draw back I have found is the boat use to be kept on a hydro hoist until two years ago when the hoist was sold and the owner decided to have it bottom painted. It has one coat and I have the broker talking to the marina about the details of the paint (type, was primer used, etc). I was able to work a deal to $30,500. Just looking for some thoughts as to what you guys think Thanks.
I know bottom paint is not well liked but in my area thes boats are hard to come by and Ill live with the paint.

Matt

This isn't "Goodfella's" is it? I think that one had a 502.

Good luck with it. Where you gonna keep it in the summer?

No the Good fellas deal fell through, the boat needed alot of work anyways. I got this one in long island. I keep the boat in here in Cape Cod. Boating here is lame but I gues it could be worse, I just need to find some people to boat with.

Congrats Matt!
I know you have been hunting for a long time.
Bottom paint is not always the end all be all. Hopefully they did a crappy job putting it on and it wont be too awful to take off.
Go and get yourself a lot of Easy Off oven cleaner

Oh ya, and a couple cases of beer for your friends that help

The 26ZX is a great boat. I looked at a number of hulls in that size and found it to be the best bang for the buck. Nice deep cockpit and handles rough water very well for a boat that size. It has great lines. A little power really wakes it up. You will not be dissappointed with your purchase.

You will definately want to loose the bottom paint.

How fast will that setup go (or claim to go?)
I've always like the 26.

Low 60's with the 454 mag. Once you get to high 50's it takes a while from there. A little power really wakes it up.

High 60's with a 496-502

Low 70's with a 500 EFI

High 70's -80 with 625 hp

Once you cross high 70's it climbs on the pad

700 hp mid 80's (85.9 has been seen on a 27ZX with blown 500 EFI)

825+ hp, we shall see.....
